Teacher's gift entirely from my stash!
I used my fabric stash and made a pot holder, coffee cup cozy and the gift bag itself. I used my embroidery machine for the santa redwork image as well a the " Merry Christmas". I had no pattern for the cozy or the potholder but the Redwork Santa embroidery design was purchased from www.artisticthreadworks.com

  • Step 1

Go through your stash of fabric, batting, etc. Pick out a festive or themed fabric that fits the occasion.

  • Step 2

Figure out whether you want a square, round, or other shaped potholder or just freehand draw your shape. Make a rectangle for the coffee cup cozy. Sew in an elastic hair band and a button for the closure.

  • Step 3

Get some material for the gift bag and make it. I did not use a pattern here either. I just use the basic principals for a tote bag with no handles.

  • Step 4

Get out your Embrodery machine and either dowload a design that's free and send it to your Embroidery machine.

  • Step 5

Once you have the design you want decide where you want it and hoop your tear away stabilizer for the bottom, then your fabric for the top . You can also use a tear away stabilizer piece for the top but I did not. Hoop it straight and tight and just push the button and let the embroidery machine do the rest! After you have your designs un hoop the gift bag and cut all the jump stitches and tear away carefully the backing . Cut a pretty ribbon place all your gifts inside and tie it up and place a tag on it and your done!

What a lovely idea Happy That's so thoughtful - and it looks like you put a lot of effort in too ^^
