Description

A tasty snack or meal. You can use the same ingredients i did, or use the things you like... just about anything will work!

Instructions

  1. Small 9883

    Gather your supplies!

  2. Small 9884

Thaw your shrimp. If you buy it like this its already cooked... but you dont want it to be frozen, so let it sit for a little while in warm water. Its a good idea to get the rice started cooking now too!

  3. Prepare your veggies... slice in long thing strips for best results. If anything needs to be cooked do this now.. like saute the mushrooms or cook any other meat your going to use. *camera ate the cute little picture of all the sliced veg :-(

  4. Small 9886

put rice on the paper and arrange filling long ways across the paper. Another CO+K sushi project said to keep a bowl of warm salt water to wet your hands on so the rice doesn't stick... great idea, will do that next time! We used the small hand roll sized paper and simply added another sheet to wrap around the finished roll so it would close and look nice. If your using full size paper youll want to only do rice about half way up.

  5. Small 9887

Carefully roll the ends of the paper together... heres where the mat comes in handy. If your rolling by hand make sure you dont smush all the filling out of the ends!

  6. Small 9888

Bring the edges together and squeeze gently and evenly to close the roll

  7. Small 9889

Successes... Sort of! Our rolls were a little overstuffed..or the paper a little short. Either way a second strip of paper (warmed over the rice bowl or wetted a little by hand!) will cover that gap and hold it all together just fine.

  8. Small 9890

Slice. I found gently sawing with a small serrated knife while taking care not to smush out the ends was the most effective way to cut these... doesn't work like on tv with the big knife and a dramatic *Chop*

  9. Small 9891

    Accessorise and serve!
