You Will Need

Step 1Iron your skirt if needed and lay flat. Measure from your shoulder to underarm. This measurement is how much you will unpick from the top of the skirt at the side seams down towards the bottom. Once you reach the desired length remember to strengthen with a few stitches so that it does not unravel.
Create darts at the top if it is too baggy.

Step 2Measure how long you want your top to be. Cut off excess and cut this portion into strips. Use needle and thread to hem the raw edge of your new top.

Step 3Braid and stitch to the top of the garment as an embellishment.
And you're done!
