Stuffed French Toast in a sandwich press! If you don't have a press, you can still make the French Toast on a griddle like you would a grilled cheese sandwich, but it wont be sealed shut like in the press so be careful when flipping it. Enjoy!

Stuffed French Toast in a sandwich press! If you don't have a press, you can still make the French Toast on a griddle like you would a grilled cheese sandwich, but it wont be sealed shut like in the press so be careful when flipping it. Enjoy!

Instructions

  1. Small img 3725

Cook your French Toast the way you like it. I never measure this part since I've made French Toast so many times, lol. Some suggestions to make it really tasty are- use heavy cream instead of plain milk, add a dash of vanilla to the egg mixture, and sprinkle with cinnamon when on the griddle. You will need to make 2 slices per stuffed French Toast, so don't stop on an odd number.

While watching the French Toast, mix 8oz of room temperature cream cheese and 5 tablespoons of powdered sugar with 1 teaspoon vanilla. This will be your filling, taste the filling and add more sugar or vanilla how you like it.

  3. Small img 3724

Place one slice of French Toast on the sandwich press, top with a large spoonful of filling and your choice of fruits. Then cover with the second slice of French Toast and repeat for as many as you can fit/need.

Then close the press, this might be hard to do if you filled yours up a lot. Let it bake for about 3 min, just long enough to get everything hot in the middle.

Remove the Stuffed French Toast from the press, and top with a little powdered sugar and some more fruit. If you find all your filling squished out because you put too much fruit inside you can smear a bit on top of them when you add your other toppings.
