This is a south Indian snack. usually plain bread is cut diagonally battered and deep fried. It is served with mint and cilantro chutney. I have made a sandwich and then battered and deep fried it to make it more filling. Try it and tell me if you like it :)

Grind the mint chutney ingredients to a thick paste using required amount of water.
Thinly slice onions and boiled potatoes. sprinkle with salt and pepper and keep aside.
Make sandwiches: Spread the mint chutney on one slice of the bread and ketchup on the other side. Place slices of onion, boiled potato and tomato and make a sandwich.
In a bowl, mix all the batter ingredients and make a fairly thick batter adding water.
Place the sandwich in the batter bowl and spoon batter over the entire sandwich.
Heat oil in a wok to smoking point. Deep fry the sandwich till golden brown and crispy.
Remove and drain the excess oil.
Slice the sandwich diagonally and serve hot with ketchup and mint-coriander chutney.
