Stripey Pants On The Cheap

Hey, that's a really cool project! Just one question, where did you get the dye from? And, did you do the dyeing outside?
Just wondering, cos I would like to do some dyeing but I don't want to mess up the machine haha ;) Thanks!

These are SO getting versionified Thanks for sharing, have been wanting some punky striped jeans for ages and been put off the price tag! How well does the paint stay on in the wash..? Mind you even if it flakes a little I can imagine that would look pretty awesome!

I was going to ask that too, i've spray painted t-shirts before, but it alwasys washes off.

What I actually meant to write in the comment box was: doesn't the spray paint wash off the denim? I've spray painted denim twice: the first time I used regular spray paint and it washed away, and the second time i got some funky kind which made the material stiff... which I absolutely can't stand. If it isn't a corset it should move with me!

Although, really, I think that I have plenty of them. I pretty much hang onto pants until they literally wear off my legs...
Also, I too have long since had a nemesis in the dreadful white jeans. Really, who's dumb idea was white denim, anyway?

How do you get the masking tap to stick so well? I can never get masking tape to stick to clothing long enough to do anything productive
