A very simple striped tank top. Knit "sideways" in simple garter stitch. No increasing or decreasing, just some buttonholes for the ribbon weave in the back. I used: Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton 2(2,3) skeins #613 (color A) and 2(2,3) skeins #615 (color B) US size 8 needles Tapestry Needle 1 One and a half inch D ring 4 yards ribbon Optional- Elastic thread

Description

A very simple striped tank top. Knit "sideways" in simple garter stitch. No increasing or decreasing, just some buttonholes for the ribbon weave in the back. Instructions

  1. With Color A, CO 60 (60,67) stitches. Row 1: Knit Row 2: *K5, BO2 repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4 Row 3: Knit 4, CO 2 sts over gap, *K5, CO2 sts; rep from * to last 5 sts, K5.

  2. Knit 7 rows. Change to color B. Knit 10 Rows. Change to color A.

  3. Continue in garter st and stripe sequence until work measures approx 29 (31 1/2, 37)" ending with the eighth row of a stripe in color B.

  4. Small rocket and smacki lace up nice medium2

    Next Row: *K5, BO 2, rep from * to last 4 sts, k4. Next Row: K4, CO 2 sts over gap;*K5, CO 2 sts, rep from * to last 5 sts, k5 BO Weave ribbon in back and lace corset style!

  5. Neckband: Finding center of your top, use Color A and RS facing, pick up and knit 10 sts. Work in garter st for 2". BO Fold strap over D-ring and seam to wrong side of work. CO 10 sts with Color A. Work in garter st for 19". BO Thread through D-ring and seam together.
