I came by this idea somewhere online but don't remember where. It's simple to do but time consuming. I just cut thin strips about 1" wide of any stretchy fabrics, like spandex or on the bias of regular one way stretch knits. Always cut the opposite of the grain to get the most stretch. Tie ends together, roll in a ball and crochet whatever you like. I never learned any other stitches so it s the granny square for me. Make it as small or as large as you like. That's it!

This is my first stretchy granny quilt/throw so bear with me.I have a lot of leftover stretch knits scraps and decided to try and make one of these to see how it would turn out,so far so good. This one has blues and pinks. Simply cut thin strips about 1" wide from fabric on the side opposite the selvage or on the bias. Then stretch out the strips and tie them together in a simple over the fingers knot. When stretched out, the strips look like string or yarn. Roll into a ball and crochet away! The knots will blend right in and give the quilt a knotty appearance. The one behind it on the chair is going to be all green fabrics.

It's kind of heavy but would be great to cover your sofa or even the bed. I don't remember where I saw this online but I'm thinking about.com. I hope you will enjoy trying this project, it's fun and somewhat addictive! Thanks for looking! Kay
