Strawberry Vanilla Sourdough French Toast

Strawberries and vanilla come together for a surprise twist on french toast.

You will need

4 slices Sourdough Bread 2 Eggs 2 tbsp Milk 2 tsp Vanilla Extract split 1 cup sliced Strawberries 1 tbsp Sugar 2 tbsp Butter Powdered Sugar for topping

Strawberries and vanilla come together for a surprise twist on french toast.

Instructions

1. Add strawberries, sugar and 1 tsp vanilla to small bowl. Gently toss with a spoon to make sure vanilla and sugar evenly distributed throughout strawberries. Set aside.

2. Whisk eggs, milk and 1tsp vanilla in a shallow bowl. Dunk first slice of bread and flip over to cover other side with egg mixture.

3. Preheat skillet over medium high heat, adding ½ TB butter to pan.

4. Once pan is hot, place soaked bread in pan and allow to cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Flip over and repeat on other side.

5. Repeat with remaining slices of bread.

6. When ready to serve, top each slice with ¼ of the strawberries and their juices. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if you desire.
