Strawberry Daifuku

Make daifuku with real rice! It tastes much better than the one made with mochi flour!

You Will Need (6 things)

  • 150 g Sweet Rice , uncooked
  • 150 ml Water
  • 1 ½ tbsp Sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • sweet azuki Beans paste
  • 4~5 Strawberries

Steps (8 steps, 30 minutes)

    Wash rice. Soak the rice in the water over night.

    Drain water and put the rice in FP. Add 150ml of water and sugar. mix well.

    Place in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover with a plastic wrap. Cook in a microwave for 2mins. Take it out and mix with wet wooden spoon or something. Cook in a microwave for another 2mins.

    Mash up rice with a wooden pestle. If there is still a little hard rice, cook for another 2 mins.

    Wrap strawberries with sweet beans. *Sweet azuki bean paste is available at Asian grocery stores.

    Dust the work surface with corn starch.

    When the rice cooled down a little, divide in 4 or 5 with a wet spoon and place on the coated surface.

    Dust your hands with corn starch and push and flatten the rice with your hands. Wrap the strawberries with rice.
