Since writing a steampunk novel, I have really gotten into that lifestyle. I purchased the book STEAMPUNK ACCESSORIES and got right to work. My first project: this hairclip. It was easy to make - it had to take less than an hour, with time spent waiting for glue to dry. The directions call for real leather, but I bought "fake" leather since I prefer not to kill an animal just to have a pretty hair piece. Even though it looks big, it is light and stays in very well. My hair is fine and usually hairclips slip out, but the alligator clip works wonders.
