You Will Need (6 things)

  • 14 mm Swarovski rivoli x 3
  • Delica Beads - (A)
  • Seed Beads 15/0 - (B)
  • 6 mm Fire Polish Crystals x 15 - (C)
  • Beading Thread
  • Beading Needle

Steps (13 steps, 360 minutes)

  1. 1

Thread the needle with a comfortable length of thread, pick up 36A. Work two rows of peyote using A beads.

  2. 2

Wrap the peyote strip around your finger and join the ends together to form a ring by sewing through both beads at each end in a figure of 8 pattern. This will be the bezel for the rivoli.

  3. 3

Continue around the bezel in peyote using C beads. Work two rows of peyote keeping a tight tension to make the diameter of the bezel smaller. Work the needle through to exit an A bead on the other edge of the bezel.

  4. 4

Push the rivoli inside so that it is snug and work two rows of peyote using the C beads to capture the rivoli in the bezel. Finish off the tail end of thread but leave the working thread attached.

  5. 5

*Work the needle through to exit an A bead in the 2nd row of A beads from the front. Pick up 1A and work a peyote stitch by going through the next A in the row. Repeat all the way around the bezel.

  6. 6

Step up through the first A added in step 5 to begin the picot edging. Pick up 3B then form the picot by going through the next A added in step 5. Repeat all the way around.**

Repeat from * to ** for the other two rivolis.

  7. 7

***Weave through to exit an A in the row below the picot edging. Pick up 5A, 1C, 5A and go through the same A again for form a triangle with the C bead as the outside edge. Go through the first 5A, 1C again.

  8. 8

Pick up 5A and go through an A in the corresponding row on the 2nd bezelled rivoli. Pick up 5A and go through the 1C, 5A, A of the bezel and the following 5A.

  9. 9

Pick up 1A and go through the 5A, A of the bezel and following 5A. Add 1A to the other edge in the same way. Retrace the thread path to strengthen it. Finish off the thread end.****

Repeat from *** to **** to attach the other rivoli, making sure to place it directly opposite the first.

  10. 10

*****Weave the working thread on the third rivoli through to exit the A bead directly opposite the one that is joined to the rest. Pick up 5A, 1C, 5A and go through the A of the bezel as before. Go through 5A, 1C. Pick up 11A and go through the previous 1C and 6A.******

  11. 11

Repeat from ***** to ****** until the strap is half the length you need it, finishing with 1C on the end.

  12. 12

Pick up 7A go through the 1C and following 4A. Pick up 3A, 1C and 1A. Skip the 1A and go back down through the 1C, 3A and 1C. Retrace the thread path to strengthen it. Work back along the length of the strap adding 1A in between each set of 5A as in step 9. Finish off the thread end.

  13. 13

Attach a new length of thread to the rivoli at the other end of the bracelet and repeat steps 10 - 12 but add a loop to the end as follows. Pick up 7A and go through the 1C and following 4A. Then pick up enough beads to form a loop that will go over the C bead at the other end of the bracelet. Go through the same A bead of the 7A as before and retrace the thread path to strengthen it then work back along the length of the strap adding 1A in between each set of 5A as before. Finish off the thread ends.
