This headband is so comfortable. I like to wear mine while working outside in my garden or while bringing my dogs for a walk.
The abbreviations for this pattern include the chain stitch (ch), slip stitch (ss), and single crochet stitch (sc). This pattern is in US terms. A 4mm and a 3.5mm crochet hook were used, and a coral colored yarn for the headband, and a white light weight yarn for the doily were used. For the headband: ch 55. Round 1: Turn. sc in second ch from hook. sc in each ch across. Round 2-5: ch 1. Turn. sc in each sc across. Leave a long tail to stitch the headband together, and fasten off.
For the Doily: ch 4. ss into the first ch. Round 1: ch 2. dc 16 stitches into the circle you just created. ss into ch 2. Round 2: ch 2. dc into same stitch. *ch 2. skip next dc and dc 2 into the next dc.* Repeat around. ss into ch 2. Round 3: ch 2. 2 dc into same stitch. *ch 2. 3 dc into next ch 2 from previous round (should be a space that you should dc into.)* Repeat around. ss into ch 2. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Use your tapestry needle and tail left at the end of your headband to stitch the ends of the headband together. Pin your doily to your headband and sew in place. I folded one of the ends of my doily around to the back of my headband, just because I liked the look better. If you do that, make sure your stitches are covered by the stitching on the front of the doily when your are sewing the back.
