pin cushion ring
A double duty piece of jewelry! A pin cushion when you are sewing and a pretty spring ring when you are not.

  • Step 1

    Use a tin can or another circle shaped object for your pattern.
    Trace on paper or on your cloth.
    Cut out the circle.

  • Step 2

    Sew the circle like a fabric yo-yo only loosely.
    When finished, stuff the yo-yo with batting.
    Close and knot your thread and cut.
    You should have a little pillow.

  • Step 3

    Flatten pillow, carefully.
    Using embroidery thread, sew dividing lines for petals.
    Sew a button in the center, going through the pillow.
    Glue your pin cushion in a metal frame and glue the frame on a ring blank.
    Let dry and wear!
