My dad freaked out when he saw this! I made this one day to pass the time. I looked at the other one posted, but I had used a different method. Here is the new how to. Sorry, but I didn't take pictures but I'll do the best I can to explain the steps. (Time does not include dry time.)

Description

My dad freaked out when he saw this! I made this one day to pass the time. I looked at the other one posted, but I had used a different method. Here is the new how to. Sorry, but I didn't take pictures but I'll do the best I can to explain the steps. (Time does not include dry time.)

Instructions

  1. Small neon green nail polish 0fd23279 1238026502

Get a bottle of nail polish. I bought a cheap bottle at the local drugstore. Make sure to find the most bright color you can find so that it will clash with whatever you "spill" it on.

  2. Take a square of wax paper and set it down on a flat surface. Find four paper weights (or heavy things) and place them on the four corners of the wax paper sheet.

  3. Now, unscrew your nail polish bottle and pour it into the center of your wax paper. Use the brush to spread the polish into the desired "spill zone" shape.

Once you have achieved the desired spilled look, place both the bottle and the brush in the polish. If you want, add other accessories, such as nail files. Get creative!

Now it's time for the hard part. Waiting! Let this dry for about two days (it will go faster if you leave it infront of a fan). It won't take a whole two days, but better safe than sorry. Don't test it with your fingers! I nearly messed the whole thing up by being impatient. If you're dying to know if it's ready, tough. Read a book to get your mind off your craft. TIP!!! Twilight Lover had an awesome idea of leaving it in the freezer to dry faster! Awesome! No more staring at it for hours on end!! Thanks!

Now that it is dry, give it a coat of clear nail polish to give it that shiny, wet look. Allow this to dry.

  7. Now that it's all dry, cut of the excess wax paper.

You'll notice that the polish will curl up or flop down. This won't fly! Grab your notebook (the spiral bound kind). Place your creation on to cardboard cover and trace the shape of your "spill" with the marker.

  9. Now cut out that shape. The notebook cover is great because it is thin, but adds some strudiness to your spill.

Glue your cardboard piece to the bottom of the spill. After it dries, cut off the sides that stick out or show. If you need to, you can cut off bits of the dried nail poish. Craft it how you like it.

Last step is find a nice table, leave your new toy there, and wait for someone to find it. Have fun!
