    Step 1

BUY SHOES!! Or use ones you've already broken in. Whatever. Freedom, brah.

    Step 2

Take out the laces! Even if you want to use them instead of the chains and ribbon I use later, take those buggers out. They get in the way when you try to put in the spikes. True story.

(COMPLETELY OPTIONAL!) I Have a love for metallics that borders on obsession> If this seems like too much, I'll still love you. Or at least I'll try.

Use metallic arcylic paint along or between the stitching on the shoe. Or paint on some gang signs. IDK. Go crazy :)

This is what it looks like after. I'm not sure why I felt this picture was necessary, but here it is lol.

OK, the hard part! Poke holes in the toe of your shoe using your shiv, poke round little holes in the toe of the each shoe.

If you're anal, use chalk to mark where you want them.

Be sure to make them just enough for the back screw of the spike to fit in and don't let them get too close to each other. Your shoe won't last very long if there is more hole than canvas...

    Step 6

Poke the back of the spike through each hole and screw on the pokey pokey top. Make sure they're screwed on tight! ;)

P.S. my fingers almost bled during this step. Ye be warned.

    Spikes finished!

I thought about putting them on the heel too, but my shoes always wear out on the back so it would probably hurt my foot.

    Yay thinking ahead! :D

This is what it looks like without the paint. Still pretty cool. I guess.

    Step 9

Ok I couldn't get a picture of this step because I was using both hands.

Take your chain and cut about three times the length of the lace-up section.

Lace up your shoe so that there are straight lines of chain up the shoe. If you don't know how to do that...I can't help you.

Use your cutter to cut one link on one end of your chain. Loop your cut link into the last link on the other end of the chain and squeeze your cut link closed. There! pretty chain laces! :)

    Step 10

Cut your ribbon long enough to lace up your shoe.

This is hard to see in the picture, but put a piece of tape on a hard surface and squeeze a line of super glue on it. Then take the ends of your ribbon and dip them in the glue.

This step keeps the ends from unraveling and makes it a little easier to lace them through the holes. You're welcome.

    Step 11

Lace 'em up! Try to maneuver the ribbon behind the chain. This might be kinda hard if your chain is as thick as mine.

This is what it looks like when you lace up all the holes and you skipped the paint step. Pretty boss. No lie.

And this is what I went with! I laced the first holes and then

Brilliant. Why not just decorate my own shoes (that actually fit my tiny feet) instead of buying expensive new ones in not-my-size?
