A great way to reuse old sneakers and make them fabulous!

Since I was dorothy this year for halloween, I wanted to pull the look together with some "ruby red slippers". All I could find was really high heels that were sparkly and pricy. I was not about to throw away money if I could make them myself. So I decided why not do my own rendition of Dorothy's Ruby Red slippers by using my old pair of converse! I loved the outcome and I want to share my success with you!

Instructions

  1. Small 6a00d8341c2f0953ef0112790ccd6228a4 500wi

OPTIONAL: You don't have to do this but if you would like, you can prep your shoes by washing them. I put mine in the washing machine. DO NOT use fabric softener!

  2. Small tape 1289101734

OPTIONAL: Unless you want the whole shoe to be sparkly, I took some painter's tape and lined the rubber part of the shoe with it.

  3. Small paint 1289102600

Taking a paper plate, squirt some of that paint on to it and add in some glitter. Mix these two together until you get a thicker mixture.

  4. Small foambrush

Use the mixture and paint all of the shoe. Paint on 2-3 coats. Before the shoe dries sprinkle some red glitter over the shoe to give it a more glittery effect.

Let the shoe air dry for 4 hours. After that you're good to go! Good luck and Thank you for reading!
