Cut Out + Keep

Soft Sewn Octopus

A soft cuddly octopus I made for my friend's baby.

This project took me a while, but for someone with a sewing machine it could be a lot faster! I made my own pattern for the octopus. Each leg was 2 pieces of fabric - one in pink flannel and one in a nice printed fabric. Sewed them (right sides together), turned them inside out, filled them with stuffing. Once I had all the legs sewn and stuffed, I lined four of them up to determine the width of the head (giving a bit of a seam allowance on either side), and then cut two of them out. Putting the legs on was a challenge, but in the end it worked out pretty well. Anyway, it's pretty darn soft and sweet!
