I love hairbands but I only seem to suit wearing accessories at one specific angle on my head, so I decided to make a hairband that I could easily snap on and off accessories.

Description

I love hairbands but I only seem to suit wearing accessories at one specific angle on my head, so I decided to make a hairband that I could easily snap on and off accessories.

Instructions

  1. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 223537 img 1291

For this project, you'll need one fabric hairband, some snaps and a snap setter.

  2. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 223640 img 1292

Decide which angle your hair accessories look cutest at and punch a hole through the hairband at that position.

  3. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 223715 img 1295

Pick out a snap back that matches the hairband.

  4. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 223801 img 1296

Use the snap setter to press the snap into place through the hairband.

  5. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 223823 img 1299

To make the bow, with one end in the middle, fold the ribbon into a loop and clip in the middle with a peg.

  6. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 224005 img 1300

Continue folding the long end of the ribbon into loops, clipping in the middle with the peg.

  7. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 224047 img 1305

Once you've made four loops, cut the end of the ribbon, remove the peg and pierce through the middle of the bow with an awl.

  8. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 224137 img 1306

Pick out a cute snap and punch it through the middle of your bow.

  9. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 224200 img 1309

Neaten up the ends of the ribbon by cutting little triangles out of the edges.

  10. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 224248 img 1314

Make as many cute little bows and accessories as you like.

  11. Small 112052 2f2015 11 16 224342 img 1557

Clip an accessory that matches your outfit onto your hairband and you're ready to go!
