I made this cute little guy for myself. He is about 4 inches tall. He's a panda and I wanted him to be kawaii but I decided to give him a more sly expression on his face which I think adds to his personality. I chose green instead of black because I wanted him to be cute and different. I hope you enjoy seeing his adventures!

Description

I made this cute little guy for myself. He is about 4 inches tall. He's a panda and I wanted him to be kawaii but I decided to give him a more sly expression on his face which I think adds to his personality. Instructions

  1. Small img 0732 1314583981

Draw a very basic, simple panda pattern. It should be small, about 4 inches tall. Attach the pieces separately to the appropriate colored felt depending on your color choices and cut out. Note you will need 2 face pieces, 2 body pieces, 2 eye patches, 4 ear pieces, and 8 foot/hand pieces. (I used the same shape for the feet and hands.) The body and face are the only pieces that should be white.

Sew the ears, feet, and hands together leaving the edges that will be attached to the panda's body/face open so you can stuff them later.

Sew the eye patches on. Sew the buttons on top of the eye patches. (Double thread your yarn.) Then stitch the mouth on in an expression that you like (I chose a sly expression.)

  4. Stuff the ears lightly. Sew the two face pieces together leaving the bottom open. Make sure you sew the two ears on during this process. (Put the ears slightly in between the two face pieces so when you sew the face together the ears get attached sticking out of his head.)

  5. Stuff the arms and feet lightly. Sew the two body pieces together leaving the top open and making sure to attach the arms and feet as you go around the body in the same way you attached the ears in the previous step.

Stuff the head and body. Sew the head onto the body. (The head's openings should go over the body's top slightly.) That's all!

  7. Note that if you wanted it to be easier you could draw the pattern in the same way but draw all the hands, feet and ears on and cut the whole pattern out as one piece and then sew the two pieces together. I like it the way described though.
