handspun or handspun-style yarn in an
aran or chunky weight)
Needle: One 6mm (US10) 16” or 20”
circular needle (or size needed to
obtain gauge), and four equivalent
matching double pointed needles
Notions: One tapestry needle
Gauge: 15sts = 4”

Terms:
CO = cast on
BO = bind off
K2tog = knit 2 stitches together
Rib 1x1 = k1, p1
" = inches

    Place marker at beginning of round. Slip marker each round.
    Rib 1x1 for 8 rounds.

  • Step 2

    NEXT ROUND: add 6 stitches over the course
    of the round.
    Knit straight until hat measures 10” from
    beginning.

    NEXT ROUND: K2tog all the way around.

    NEXT ROUND: Knit
    Switch to double pointed needles.

    Finishing: Break yarn and draw through

I'm currently knitting this hat and it is super easy and looking good so far. But is the one in the photo the one in the instructions? It looks like the hat in the photo has a 2x2 rib stitch. Just wondering because I really like the one in the photo.
