Beautiful skeletal hand for my boyfriend's birthday
I didn't intend on putting this project on this fabulous website, so i didn't take any photos of the procedure. I fished this photo out of my bf's facebook photos^^

  • Step 1

First, shape some clay into a rough square, more or less the same size as your hand, from your wrist to your fingers.

  • Step 2

Make small rectangles for the bones of each finger. Remember that not all your fingers have the same number of bones, nor is the length the same.Make sure the bones are smooth and about 1cm thick.

  • Step 3

Glue the bones together in the correct order and glue them onto the hand part. I used silicone (that horrid stuff that smells like vinegar). It held very well and actually let the fingers move so they were quite life-like. As far as a skeleton goes...

  • Step 4

Take some fake nails and shape them into points. Paint them any colour you like and put a glossy top coat over them. Stick them to the end of the fingers, just before the tips.

  • Step 5

Once the clay has set and dried, use some material to wrap around the hand part, letting the fingers show. I wrapped mine in black lace and velvet. Have fun!! xxx
