I don't know about you, but in our house we have more odd socks than matching ones! So to keep what pairs we have got together, I've come up with the Super Simple Sock Sorter. All you need are very basic knitting skills, scrap wool and toilet rolls. You can make them to co-ordinate with your socks, or just to be nice and bright and cheerful. Here goes. Cast on 27 sts. Work 4 rows garter stitch i.e. knit every row. Work 28 rows stocking(nette) stitch i.e. knit 1 row, purl 1 row. Last 4 rows, garter stitch i.e. knit each row. Cast (bind) off. Sew up the seam, slip the cover over the toilet roll tube, and stuff the pair of socks inside where they're guaranteed to stay together!
