Apply base coat to your nail and then prep your nail with a neutral base shade. I used three coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff. Using the brush in the bottle, create a stripe from the center of your nail to the side wall. Allow enough polish on the end of your brush to create a rounded edge. A brush such as those in OPI polishes work well for this because they hold a lot of polish. I'm using OPI You're Such A Budapest for my first color here.
Do the same on both sides of the original stripe. Make the side stripes about 2/3 the length of the original stripe. There will probably be polish all over your sidewall and cuticle by this point. You can go ahead and clean up between each color to limit the mess later!
Repeat the previous steps with additional colors, just moving closer to the side wall with each color. I used three colors in addition to You're Such A Budapest: OPI Suzi's Hungary Again!, OPI Can't Find My Czechbook, and OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw. If you are using a polish with a large brush, like OPI, you can turn it on its side to apply smaller stripes.
Clean-up using acetone and an angled eyeliner brush. Apply a top coat to seal in your design! I used Out the Door top coat.
