I used some scraps of fabric I had as I never like to waste anything, you could use an old piece of clothing or samples of fabric you can get for free. The flower petals was cut from felt, I paid for a pack of 5 A4 colors from a pound store, bargain, loads left over for other crafts. It has a random button in the center, just for the look really but you can use matching colors or a pompom or anything... these can cheap and cheerful and cute.
