Description

The three bracelets in the picture were made for my future nieces for Christmas. A big thank you to my mom for being my model in the pictures :] Don't want to make it? Check out my site {a work in progress} http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/La-La-Land/124300474291218

Instructions

  1. Small 001 1293461768

Choose your paper. I always use either the large scrapbook paper (12X12 I think it is) or 11X8 paper. Choose as many as you would like (normally I use three). Hint:Smaller prints turn out better.

  2. Small 002 1293461886

Decide what kind of beads you would like, for long ones do straight strips of paper and for more round ones do triangular shapes. Then on the back of your paper measure and draw out what you want to use. Hint: The triangular shape makes more beads per sheet of paper then a straight strip.

  3. Small 003 1293462029

Just an example of triangular and straight strips.

  4. Small 004 1293462158

I use a metal skewer {sorry if I spelled that wrong} but a thin paint brush would also work, roll a think edge around which ever you chose and brush mod podge on the paper {the white side of it} and start rolling. Hint: Don't brush the mod podge all at once, work in small sections because the mod podge will ooze up some.

  5. Small 006 1293462394

Once you have it rolled all the way up, brush mod podge on the whole outside.

I like to push the beads off one at a time and let them dry while I am working on others. After they had dried (I usually leave them over night) give them a second coat, allow them to dry and then bead away.

You can also add charms on. This one is from a Mountain Dew Typhoon can. Hint: To make clean out your can with soap and water and allow to dry. Then cut off the top of the can {I use an exacto knife to punch holes then cut with heavy scissors around the top, down the side, and then around the bottom.} Then cut out your shape. To punch a hole in the top I use a nail and a hammer on a cutting board.

Then string everything you would like onto your elastic and knot the ends. I like to leave a little exrta elastic on the ends and sew that into the beads.
