This design works well with any oval or round, coin style beads. It's just a simple, fun necklace that always gets people talking!

You Will Need (8 things)

  • Tools required:

  • Round, flat and chain nosed Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Hammer
  • Block
  • Materials required:

  • 26 -gauge/0.4mm and 20-gauge/0.8mm Wire
  • 1 Oval Bead (mine was 2.5cm x 2cm)

Steps (4 steps, 45 minutes)

  1. 1

Working from a spool of wire (or long length), thread the bead with 20-gauge wire and create the crinkled, sweet wrapper end as shown, using your pliers.

  2. 2

Repeat for the opposite side of the bead and secure the wire back at the bead hole – however, don't cut the excess wire off!

  3. 3

Cut about 2 x 10” lengths of 26-gauge wire and attached to each side of the bead (over the wrapped wire) and weave the wire back and forth within the crinkled, sweet wrapper frame. Secure and cut off any excess. Create spirals out of the projecting 20-gauge wires (in step 3) and fold these over the wrapped wires underneath.

  4. 4

Attach each side of the 'sweetie' pendant to a chain or cord to suspend as a necklace. I have made a front opening necklace with the clasps at the front.
