  • 4 -ply (fingering) Yarn in pale pink, red, sparkly white, black, and white angora
  • 20 cm (8in) of 4-ply (fingering) Yarn in metallic gold
  • 2 x 3.4mm (1/8in) black Bead(s)
  • Toy Stuffing
  • Black sewing cotton and Sewing Needle

  • Needles

  • 2.75mm (UK 12, US 2) Knitting Needles

Steps (5 steps, 180 minutes)

  1. 1

    Head
    Using pale pink yarn yarn, cast on 13 sts and purl 1 row.
    Next row: K1, M1, (K2, M1) five times, K2 (19 sts).
    Starting with a purl row, work 3 rows in SS.
    Next row: K9, Kfb, turn.
    Next row: P2, turn.
    Next row: K to end of row.
    Next row: P9, P2tog, P9 (19 sts).
    Next row: K5, (ssK) twice, K1, (K2tog) twice, K5 (15 sts).
    Starting with a purl row, work 3 rows in SS.
    Next row: K1, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K1, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K1 (11 sts).
    Thread yarn through rem sts and fasten.

  2. 2

    Body
    Using red yarn, cast on 10 sts and purl 
1 row.
    Next row: K2, M1, K1, M1, K4, M1, K1, M1, K2 (14 sts).
    Next row: P3, M1, P1, M1, P6, M1, P1, M1, P3 (18 sts).
    Next row: K4, M1, K1, M1, K8, M1, K1, M1, K4 (22 sts).
    Purl 1 row.
    Next row: (K3, M1) six times, K4 (28 sts).
    Starting with a purl row, work 9 rows in SS.
    Next row (RS): Purl (this forms a fold line).
    Next row: (P2tog) fourteen times (14 sts).
    Starting with a knit row, work 2 rows in SS.
    Next row: (K2tog) seven times (7 sts).
    Thread yarn through rem sts and fasten.
    Lower edge body trim
    Using sparkly white yarn, cast on 26 sts and knit 3 rows.
    Cast off.

  3. 3

    Front band
    Using sparkly white yarn, cast on 3 sts and work in GS until band is long enough to reach from top to bottom edge of body.
    Cast off.

  4. 4

    Belt
    Using black yarn, cast on 3 sts and, starting with a knit row, work in SS until belt, when slightly stretched, is long enough to fit around middle of body.
    Cast off.

  5. 5

    Bobble hat
    Using sparkly white yarn, cast on 20 sts and knit 3 rows.
    Change to red yarn and, starting with a knit row, work 6 rows in SS.
    Next row: K9, w&t.
    Next row: P5, w&t.
    Next row: K to end of row.
    Next row: (P2, P2tog) five times (15 sts).
    Next row: K6, w&t.
    Next row: P to end of row.
    Next row: K8, K2tog, K1, K2tog, K2 (13 sts).
    Purl 1 row.
    Next row: (K1, K2tog) four times, K1 (9 sts).
    Purl 1 row.
    Thread yarn through rem sts and fasten.
