Create your own version of the famous Salvador Dali melting clock- quick and easy!
I got the idea from WikiHow.
I changed it up a bit but I think I like their version better. There are a lot of interesting things you could do with this project.

  • Step 1

Grab an old, scratched record that you would like to still see around.
This part is up to you- you can add numbers or leave it plain. I hot glued fuse beads to the record in hopes that they would melt together and look really cool- they didn't melt:( Some different craft paints may work better.

  • Step 2

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees.
Place you record on a cookie sheet and put in oven for about five minutes.

  • Step 3

When the record comes out, it will be pretty hot so be sure to wear some gloves or oven mitts. Shape the clock as you like-- it stays flexible for a minute or so and you can always heat it more.

  • Step 4

Use either a clock kit from a craft store or take apart an old clock and use that kit. Simply insert the kit through the hole that is already in the center of the record, and hot glue it to the back. You can drill a small hole on top for hanging. That's all there is to it.

I agree- I was hoping for rad, melting numbers and got more of a noodle-art vibe...
