This was very fun to make... and I loved the results, especially the back! Pretty soon I'll have a closet full of these :)

    Find a sweater you'd like to modify, and another one for the trim (or you can use fabric)

    I cut off the neck tie part of the white sweater to use it later.

    I created a pattern for the sailor collar and drew it on newspaper. Each sweater is different, so you will need to make adjustments that fit the sweater.

    I traced the pattern onto the white sweater and made the collar. This piece has two layers, so I turned it inside out and pressed it.

    Add some trim to the collar using the ribbon.

    Sew the collar onto the sweater.

    Make sure it lines up with the front and the back. You may need to do some more pressing.

    I used the piece I cut from before and tied into a bow. I attached it to the sweater by hand sewing.
