Use ‘H’ hook, a tapestry needle to join circles, and worsted (4) yarn- like superwash wool or Caron Simply Soft in whatever colors you choose- you could mix colors, or do it all in one color or whatever, be creative! You can also do different types of circles- solid, chains between the double crochet stitches to create spaces, or mixed with a round of each. Make about 1 Extra-large circle, and 8 each of Large, Medium and Small circles

Description

Instructions

  1. Small circle- Round 1: Ch 2, and sc 8 times into the 2nd ch from hk. Join to 1st sc with sl st. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in 1st sc, 2 dc in each sc, sl st w/ 3rd ch. Fasten off, weave in ends.

  2. Medium circle- Round 1: Ch 2, and sc 8 times into the 2nd ch from hk. Join to 1st sc with sl st. Round 2: Ch 4, *dc in next sc, ch1 *, rep from * to * 7 times, join w/ sl st to 3rd ch of ch 3 Round 3: Ch 5, *dc in ch 1 space, ch1, dc in dc, ch 1*, rep from * to * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch. Fasten off, weave in ends.

  3. Large circle – Round 1: Ch 2, do 16 dc’s in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join. Round 2: Ch 3, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc*, rep from * to * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch. Round 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, dc in next dc *, rep from * to * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch. Fasten off, weave in ends.

  4. Extra Large circle – Round 1: Ch 2, do 16 dc’s in 2nd ch from hook, sl st to join. Round 2: Ch 3, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc*, rep from * to * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch. Round 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, dc in next dc *, rep from * to * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch. Round 4: Ch 4, dc in next dc, ch 1, *dc in next dc, ch 1* , rep from * to * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch. Fasten off, weave in ends. Arrange all the circles around the extra-large circle in a semi-symmetrical manner- or do it completely random. This is up to you. Join the circles with matching yarn and tapestry needle. Block the centerpiece and you are done!!
