About

I love making accessories and one of my friends love embellishments to add to jackets and tops. So I made her this lovely rosette.

It's quite a simply and quick gift to make, great for using up remnants and you can tailor it to specific peoples tastes easily.

You Will Need (4 things)

  • Any Fabric
  • Button(s)
  • Felt Scraps
  • Brooch

Steps (4 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

    Take two pieces of fabric.
    Cut both the same length,
    One wider than the other.
Do a slip stitch along the edge and rouche into circles.

With the smaller piece of fabric I overlocked one edge with a blue cotton to contrast. I didn't overlock the bigger piece of fabric as I think it looks nice when it freys over time,

  2. 2

Attach the smaller piece of fabric to the bigger piece of fabric and sew through the centre to secure.
You can make small tack stitches around various points on the edge just to attach it more securely.
Add a selection of buttons in the centre. Don't worry about the stitches on the back.

  3. 3

Fold a strip of fabric in half and attach to the back of the work.
Cut a circle of felt and sew onto the back of the rosette. this makes it more stiff and also covers up any messy stitches.
Use a strip of felt to make a secure place for a pin.

  4. 4

    Wear it with pride!!
