I was inspired by a bunch of blogs and noticed that rock and crystal pendants were becoming "in," so I crafted a bunch of pendants out of beach rocks and wire! I got so many compliments and people were amazed when I told them I made it myself, so I just felt like sharing. :)

Things you will need: thin gauge wire (must be flexible by hand)(also, at the craft store, the higher the numbers are on the package, the thinner the wire. I believe this is 22) a wire cutter a plier a rock or crystal or gem of your choice (must be big enough to wrap wire around) a chain to hang the pendant from
Take the end of the wire. Bend it to make a loop, then, with the pliers, grab the free end and coil it around the other side. You may want to use a pen or pencil to help keep the shape. Make sure the coils are tight and don't have gaps.
Choose your rock. Keep in mind, the flatter a rock is, the easier it is to wrap. Take the rock and place it against the wire, positioning the loop where you want the top of the pendant to be. Begin wrapping the wire around the rock, alternating between diagonal/horizontal/vertical wraps. Wrap it until it feels secure and won't fall out.
Bring the wire up to the loop. Cut the wire about 3/4 inch away from the rock with your wire cutter. Coil the free end around the loop's base just like you did in step 2.
Ta-da! You are done! Now, hang the pendant from a chain, the longer the better. You can even wear multiple rocks together.
