Description

Some of the items I used can be substituted for whatever you have laying around your home. The point of this is the recycled and reuse whatever you already have!

Instructions

  1. Small image

Take a shallow box of your choice, and find some sort of cushioning that you can use. I used a thick piece of plastic sheeting that I found.

  2. Small image

I had some graphics on the back of the box, so I used painter's tape and proceeded to paint the back of the box black. It is not necessary to do this step, and you can use whatever decoration you want.

  3. Small image

Here is the back of the box painted black with arylic paint. I did two coats of paint.

  4. Small image

After the paint dried I did a couple of coats of Modge Podge. I used a glossy finish, but matte would work just as well. Let dry.

  5. Small image

Here is the box painted, varnished, and dried.

  6. Small image

Next I took an Exacto knife and started making slits in the cushioning using a ruler as a guide to make sure things were even.

  7. Small image

I than colored each slit with a black marker just so I could see things better and make sure the slits were straight.

  8. Small image

This is strange, but I took some batteries (that had no power left) and hot-glued them to the back of the cushioning. I did this because there needs to be space left between the cushion and bottom of the box or the rings will not sit comfortably. Once again, you may use whatever you have laying around to do this, but make sure you don't accidentally cover the slits.

  9. Small image

I hot-glued the batteries to the inside of the box and made sure the cushion was balanced and not drooping anywhere. If it is drooping, just add more batteries to balance it out.

And there you have it you are done! I am sorry if some steps are confusing and remember just use what you have!
