Description

Tom discovered Rilakumma while were in Japan and he soon became his new favourite character. To cheer him up on a gloomy Monday, I decided to make him a super adorable bento box with a rice Rilakumma face!

Instructions

  1. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 151332 img 1011

Cut a cucumber in to thick chunks and then use a small heart-shaped cutter to punch out some cucumber hearts. Use a knife to cut the hearts in to thin slices.

  2. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 151632 img 1012

Cover the bottom of your bento box with salad leaves and then top with the cucumber hearts.

  3. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 151731 img 1013

Cook the sweet chilli rice and then compress in to a small round bowl (which should be smaller than your bento box). Press it in nice and firm so it doesn't fall apart too much.

  4. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 151838 img 1014

Carefully tip the rice bowl in to the middle of your bento box so that the rice ball falls out neatly.

  5. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 151910 img 1015

Repeat this process with a tablespoon measuring spoon to add two balls for the ears.

  6. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 154929 img 1016

Use a small glass to cut a circle from Quorn ham for the mouth.

  7. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 152007 img 1017

Cut the bottom half off three olives for the eyes and nose.

  8. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 154941 img 1018

Place the mouth in place along with two smaller Quorn ham circles on the ears. I cut these with a bottle top. Put the olive halves in place for eyes and a nose.

  9. Small 102777 2f2014 06 23 152050 img 1019

Use scissors to cut a small v shape for the mouth from a sheet of nori.

Arrange your nori, snacks and sides in the bento and serve!
