I actually used a howto from Dollartree.com, but I can't find the link to it... but here's my spin on their wreath craft. This could be done for any season, but since I did this over Christmas, my choice was obvious.
Gather all your materials, and preheat your hot glue gun.
I recommend doing a test wrap of your wreath form--foam or grapevine, I used grapevine--with your ribbon before gluing. Once you are satisfied with how you want your wreath wrapped, put a bit of hot glue on your wreath's staring point, pressing one end of the ribbon down, and wrap one entire spool of ribbon around the wreath. Then, repeat the step with the second spool of ribbon until the wreath is completely covered. Snip off the excess ribbon and secure with a bit of hot glue.
Wrapped wreath should look like this.
Next, take your fake flowers and snip them off with your wire cutters. Be sure to leave a bit of the stem so you have something to secure them to the wreath with.
Next, using a combination of floral wire and hot glue, wrap your cut fake flowers to the wreath, using the glue to secure it even further at the back. Do this over and over, bunching them together so that the wire is not visible.
Once you've got a good idea how your flowers are going, I recommend jumping forward to the space where you want your ornament and attaching it before you get your flowers to that spot. I choose two little stockings and just hot glued them on until I was sure they would stay. After they were on, I continued attaching my flowers in the same manner as before.
You can choose to wrap the wreath all the way around with flowers, but I decided to stick with the idea that the craft pamphlet I had said, and only do half, allowing the ribbon to show at the top and only wrapping up on the other side of the ornaments to match the other side. And, volia! My wreath was complete! This could really be done for any season. Enjoy!
