Ribbon And Chain Bracelet

it looks expensive, but it's not!

This bracelet works best with chain that has links that lay flat against each other. The timepiece charm was something I picked up in a French antique market, it doesn't actually tell time.

You Will Need (7 things)

  • 1 Jump Ring(s)
  • 1 Lobster Clasp
  • 7 ½ in double Chain
  • Notions: Thread , Scissors, Pins, Sewing Machine
  • 3 in Ribbon
  • 1 antique Charm(s)
  • jewelry Tools

Steps (11 steps, 15 minutes)

  1. 1

Sew one end of the ribbon closed, but make sure there is enough opening for a chain link to go through. Hand turning the machine is the best way, if you use the pedal, the machine will go too fast and far, because the ribbon is only 3/8 inch wide.

  2. 2

attach the ribbon to one of the links.

  3. 3

tape the other end of the ribbon. this makes it easier to thread through the links.

  4. 4

start threading through the chain. thread the ribbon through the biggest gaps.

  5. 5

mark where your ribbon should be folded to be sewed shut.

  6. 6

holding your marker, aka random bobby pin, push the chain down to the end that has already been sewed.

  7. 7

    fold, remove marker, then sew.

  8. 8

cut the excess ribbon, below where you sewed. be careful, make sure your just cutting the strand with the tape on the end.

  9. 9

stretch the links back out, open up the end link, and put the ribbon and a lobster clasp on it. close the link.

  10. 10

at the other end of the bracelet, attach a jump ring to the ribbon that was attached to a link.

  11. 11

attach a charm in the middle, or wear it as is!
