Needed white shoes for a costume didn't have a pair that would go cute with the outfit and I didn't want to pay full price for a pair of shoes that I was only going to ware once. So I decided to revamp a pair of shoes from a second hand store.
Needed white shoes for a costume didn't have a pair that would go cute with the outfit and I didn't want to pay full price for a pair of shoes that I was only going to ware once. So I decided to revamp a pair of shoes from a second hand store.
Original shoes bought for $3.00 from a second hand store.
Cut off straps with a sharp utility knife and be careful not to cut the shoe.
Color shoes with shoe polish. Put at least three coats on each shoe and make sure that the shoe is completely dry before you apply another coat. This is what takes the longest time. You can use a blow dryer to speed up the process.
This step is completely optional. Only follow this step if you plan on adding ribbon to the shoes. Remove thread around top of shoe with a utility knife.
Thread ribbon threw the slots of the shoe. Start at the back of the shoe and finish at the front of the shoe. You can hot glue the ends on the front of the shoe or you can tie the ribbon into a knot. Hot glue the bow on top of the shoe over the ends of the ribbon.
