Lavender sachets are easy to make plus a perfect DIY for using up scrap fabric. Most supplies are things most crafters have on hand. The only item you'll need to invest in is loose lavender.
Lavender sachets are easy to make plus a perfect DIY for using up scrap fabric. Most supplies are things most crafters have on hand. The only item you'll need to invest in is loose lavender.
First is to create your pattern. You can find a pattern online, design your own or maybe even use an old cookie cutter. Whatever you decide make sure it's not too complicated as you'll need to be able to stitch it up after adding the loose lavender.
Cut your pattern then trace it onto your scrap fabric. You'll need a front and back piece. Cut out your pieces.
Pin the front and back together plus add a ribbon for the top if you want. The ribbon is optional. Feel free to add other embellishments like buttons or upcycled jewelry.
Use your sewing machine or hand-stitch the front and back pieces together. Leave an opening for the loose lavender. To add the lavender create a funnel out of paper.
You can find loose lavender at your local tea store. You can buy just enough for a few sachets or invest in a larger amount depending on how many you want to make.
Once you've added the lavender, you can stitch the opening up and you're done. Note: be careful how much you fill the sachet up with - adding too much will make it difficult to sew close.
