For this project, I started with a set of vintage tapered table legs that were attached to a junky piece of plywood I bought as a 'plant table' for $1.00 at a yard sale over 10 years ago. They've been exposed to the elements but I loved the look of the legs and wanted to use them for *something*, so I came up with this. :) The goal was to *not* be perfect with this project and to just be creative. I used an old beat-up drawer that I liked the front color of (and left scratched and worn after a thorough cleaning) and reinforced the bottom with scrap lumber (screwed from the inside of the drawer down into the wood). I primed it and then painted it with two shades of metallic paint, first with a turquoise and then streaks of silver to give it a marbled look. A few coats of satin varnish finished the paint job. In the meantime, I removed the vintage legs from the plywood table, sanded them down by hand, spray painted them silver and finally attached them to the bottom of the drawer base. The last step was gluing glass gems/baubles (with Goop glue that dries clear) around the lip and across the front of the drawer. It didn't seem 'finished' without a little pizzazz and since it's going to be out on my patio, I wanted to add them so they would catch the sunlight (or patio lights and candles at night). Drilling holes in the drawer would be suggested if one were to place potted plants inside/atop the table or if it was to be left where it might be rained on (although, I would recommend not allowing it to get too wet as the wood will begin to warp). One could also add a hinged top to create a cover and it would create a handy place to stow your items while also protecting them. :)
