Lace Up Corset Style Red Dress
I made this last summer and it was a total hit! I used a New Look pattern and modified it. I bought the fabric for ridiculously cheap (like 2$ a yard) at Sew Low in Cambridge MA. They have really great deals, but you have to hunt in the store. They also have a really great trim section. I have heard the staff is bitchy, but I have never had a problem. I lined the whole thing with white cotton and added some lace at the bottom. Prewashing the fabric alone would have been key though because as soon as I got it wet all the red ran and dyed the white lining pink! haha. I guess no one will see! =p

I would love to make a tut for this dress. I saw them online or at festivals and would wonder how to make them, but no one seemed to know how to explain it. Eventually after some serious brainstorming I figured it out. One day when I have some more time I will surely make a how to!

Cute. It's so summery and hippie. I can see wearing it while jaunting up the streets of San Francisco with a tote bag.
