Description

Instructions

  1. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133439 img 7676

Start by cutting a card rectangle for your template. This should measure to the same width and height you'd like your final bow. Our one measured 6" by 2.5".

  2. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133445 img 7677

Fold the tweed in half and pin the template to the top of the fabric, at the folded edge.

  3. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133459 img 7678

Cut around the sides and bottom edge leaving 1/2" seam allowance.

  4. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133514 img 7681

Remove the template, unfold the tweed rectangle and thread a needle.

  5. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133527 img 7682

Fold the top and bottom edges in by 1/2" and pin in place. Sew a running stitch along the top and bottom edges to secure and remove the pins.

  6. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133542 img 7685

Cut off any excess fabric with a pair of pinking scissors to help prevent fraying.

  7. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133549 img 7687

Now fold the left and right sides in by 1/2" and pin.

  8. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133618 img 7688

Fold the rectangle in half vertically and pin along the bottom.

  9. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133627 img 7689

Using the needle and thread, stitch around the open edges of the rectangle.

  10. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133640 img 7691

Pinch the bow in the middle and secure the bow shape with a couple of stitches.

  11. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133708 img 7692

Cut a small rectangle of tweed to make the bow loop. This should measure roughly 2" x 1.5".

  12. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133713 img 7694

Pin the top and bottom edges over a little.

Fold the sides of the rectangle in by 1/4" and pin.

  15. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133735 img 7697

Stitch up the open edge at the back.

  16. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133744 img 7699

Stitch the top and bottom edges of the rectangle together to form a loop.

  17. Small 114622 2f2016 07 01 133750 img 7700

    Place this over your bow.
