how's that for going green?
most of us have tons of old magazines laying around the house. I know i have a bunch of magazines that i look at like once, and then shove in some corner in my room to be forgotten about. Well not any moreeee ;] Give new life to your old magazines!

    Brace yourself. This is going to take a while. I advise you sit in a bean bag chair and turn up the radio, or turn on the t.v.

    flip through your magazines and rip out a bunch of really colorful pages.

    cut up the pages in different sizes, it doesn't really matter, they just need a square or rectangle shape. Making different sizes is a good thing.

    Alright, now take a piece of magazine, place it on a flat surface. Make sure the side that you like the best is face down.

    now, at the bottom corner, make a tiny fold.

    fold that fold over, and keep doing that until it turns into more of a rolling motion instead of a folding motion.

    Now, when it gets into a rod-like shape, take your glue gun and glue the corner down. You just need a tiny bit of glue.

    you should have this.

    make a bunch of these. they will be your beads. make however many beads you want.

    now, take all your rods, and squish them!!! yea! flatten themmm! squish their little guts outt!!!

    Now that all of your rods are flat. It's time to start rolling them. It's best to always start rolling at the fat end. Roll it up like a fruit rollup.

    when there is only a few centimeters left unrolled, grab your glue gun, and put a little glue and roll the rest of the way.

    you end up with this little guy.

    now do it to the rest of your rods, beware, you might get arthritus or something :]

    now all you do is arrange the beads how you want them side by side and hot glue them together. make sure you pull of all the little strings.

    now you need a chain. I used and old broken necklace. Luckily it was broken right in the middle.
    So all i did, was flip my cluster of beads overand hotglued the chain to the two seperate ends.

i love it. i did it with a couple friends and we made some neat looking ones. we didnt have any chains but we made ours into head bands. fabric would be neat. <3
