I know a lot of people feel like cutting up books is a horrible thing to do, however I think it gives books a new life. I love reading and I love books, but I don't mind cutting them up as well. If you do though, check out your local thrift store or half price books for old encyclopedias that are outdated and no longer used. For the plants, I recommend succulents because they don't require much water which means your book will hold up much longer. I chose Baby Toe and Stone Face succulents. They don't grow large and I think they're really cool. Like life forms, which is why I chose a Star Trek book. :)
