Turn an old book cover into a new notebook
I was going to post a how-to until I realized I had NO IDEA what I was doing. No kidding, no idea. I basically took an old hardcover book that was falling to bits, mourned the loss of a Tolkien-related piece and then decided to memorialize the not-that-well-written biography in the form of a diary. I have no idea how to bind books, so I did not feel safe telling other people how to. I managed to stab myself in the phalange with an x-acto knife rather deeply and break the needle on my sewing machine (though it did work), so unless you're a fan of ad hoc crafting then you may just want to look up bookbinding online. ANYWHO, Here's what I finally ended up with. The cover is really cool.

I love making journals, it's something that gives you complete satisfaction.
Sounds like you did a modified version of Coptic stitch?
Awesome result though x I love it

That is really cool. Your description was pretty good too. Seems slightly difficult...but worth while.

The best things I make, I never have any idea what I'm doing! And this is really great!

I basically folded over sheets of paper and sewed them into thin packets; then i sewed the packets together. I poked holes into the packets (individually)with my sewing machine, which I was able to do because my machine is pretty strong (old industrial Juki). Then I just took a regular needle and threated through the holes. I pasted the front and back page of the wad of paper to the inside covers, and then pasted original book pages over so it would look neater.

In conclusion, I have no idea what type of bookbinding that is, but that's what I did and somehow it turned out decently.

That looks like complicated bookbinding, is there a specific name for the type that it is? Your book turned out great.
