i've seen a tun like these on ebay but have never seen one that i really like or really could afford. so i said screw it id Frankenstein one! ok to make this project i took a t-shirt i loved but was to small fitted wise. if that makes sense it was long enough but to skinny. and some extra fabric for the hood and the slit in the back. and i cut up a ribbed tank to to make the sleeves. i promise to actually take pictures from now on lol. even though im sure u just <3 my paint masterpieces!

ok to start take your t-shirt and cut it in half down the center of the front. do the same on the back but do NOT cut the neck! i left the original color on so i didn't have to muck up the hood. but if you want to do it that way you can as i said this was a just plan as i go kinda thing.
start with the hood. now i had a hood pattern from somewhere that i made i duno where. but you can trace a hoodie you already have just add about 1 in for seam allowance or just kinda freehand it if your real good. you want to cut 4 pieces all together 2 inner pieces and two outer. you can do the lining in fleece which is pretty inexpensive or you could just chop up a holey thermal like i did! also to give the frount the black trimm i cut my black lining about 1 in bigger and folded over. that was the original seam for the bottom of my thermal so it really looked swanky. now make sure if your doing fuzzy fabric to cut them so you have two mirrored sides not the same one or you'll just cry. lol now place the pieces wrong side out and then sandwich them all together. i sewed the front part first (the strait line)then flipped them and then sewed the curved. leave the bottom undone were going to sew that to the color anyway. now set it aside.
now take your hoodie and place it upside down along your collar and pin and sew, yeah my worst paint pic yet :/ now if you want your hood to be really deep you just keep sewing it down the front of the cut. try not to stretch the collar on your tee it will make your hood bunch weird.
now measure your cut in the fount and in the back. mine were different on my shirt. now the front is the length you want for your zipper i suggest a jacket specific one. now on the back your going to want to take that measurement and cut a piece out like so. <-- then just turn inside out and sew this piece in. now measure about 6 in on the bottom. i honestly too the scrap from my velvet and just laid it under the slit i made and pulled the shirt apart n traced n cut the fabric. if you want a pattern draw a line on your paper that's as tall as you need and then draw 3 in out on both sides and connect the dots.
sleeves, ok i left the reg t-shirt sleeves on and took a tank top from walmart that i hated and just cut state across under the sleeves and then cut it in half.
now pin to your inside out t-shirt. then just sew along the original t-shirt hem which can be tricky i had to take that little cubby off my machine and slip the sleeve on and sew just make sure you have the extra sleeve on the outside of the t-shirt and that its inside out! i hope this makes sense. so your sewing the tank top inside the t-shirt then sew down the sleeves to put em together. then just pop in your zipper. if you want the whole thing lined... your on your own lol.
