HOW TO MAKE THE BOW BELT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b2BoocVPb8

This is the story of my prom dress. I ordered it online because I never had the chance to go shopping for one (not my choice.) It wasn't exactly my favorite, but it was only $50. By the time I was about to take it off after prom when I was home, the zipper was stuck. I ended up having to cut the dress off down the zipper with scissors. Ya, I was really tired. I probably would have sold the dress if I didn't have to cut it off. Anyway, the skirt had a ton of fabric so I decided to cut off the top of the dress and use the skirt of it to make another dress. The only thing that relates the two dresses is the kind of pleating at the waist (and of course the fabric). I'm glad I was able to use the fabric and make something I would wear. I hope you enjoyed this, maybe it will give you a little perspective on re-purposing your own prom dress. Oh, and I was inspired by a Modcloth dress, as I am with most things.
