Re Sizing A T Shirt

How to turn a bulky too-big-for-you tee shirt into a cute fitted one

Ok.. So I know that there are a lot of tutorials out there for this technique, and as I was looking through them I noticed that they were not very clear, So I decided to make a tutorial of my way of doing this. It's pretty much the same as all of the other ones, but I found an easier way of doing the sleeves.. Thanks for stopping bye! Cheers! *Note* Sorry if the picture gets cut off, I don't know what was wrong :/

Instructions

  1. Small photo 1 9

    Gather your materials

  2. Small photo 2 9

Turn your too big for you shirt inside out

  3. Small photo 3 8

Put your fitted shirt on top of your large shirt, lining up at the collars. (Yes I realize that I'm using a different fitted shirt than in the 1st picture)

  4. Small photo 5 6

Trace around the body of the shirt (Not the sleeves) Leaving a bit of room for seam allowance

  5. Small photo 3 7

Move one side over so that the sleeve seams line up (The rest of the shirt doesn't have to line up, Just as long as the sleeve seams line up)

  6. Small photo 5 5

Trace around the sleeves, leaving a bit of room for seam allowance. *Tip* It's better if the sleeve is cut on a diagonal, the smaller side at the bottom of the sleeve and the larger side at the top. I didn't do that in this picture but I corrected it when I cut it.

  7. Small photo 1 7

Do the same on the other side *Note* Here I traced it correctly, see how the sleeve is more at a diagonal?

  8. Small photo 2 7

    Cut along your lines

  9. Small photo 3 6

    Pin along your cut edge

  10. Small photo 4 4

Your shirt should now look like this

  11. Small photo 1 6

    Sew along the pinline

  12. Small photo 2 6

Fold the seams open and pin in place

  13. Small photo 3 5

    Sew along your pin line

  14. Small photo 5 3

Gently pull along the raw edge of your sleeve, this will cause it to roll up

  15. Small photo 1 5

And you're done! Wasn't that easy? Now you have a cute new fitted tee shirt to wear out! Ps. Those are not stains, I spilled some water on the shirt.. (I'm such a klutz)
