Cut Out + Keep

Re Bound Book Journal

Old book put to use

I saw this fabulously satirical book at the thrift store and knew that my friend would get a kick outta it so i decided to make it into something useful (since it is worthless as an instructional book)! I tore the book apart slowly to see how it was put together. It works best if you keep the separate bundles of pages together and then re-stitch them once you have replaced some of the original pages with cardstock (or plain or lined paper, whatever you want really). The hardest part is to re-bind it. I used sheet rock tape directly on the paper for the binding (it looks like a plastic net), and then a scrap of denim on top of that for added security. It was really fun to choose the pictures and text to keep. You can add pictures of your own or letters, or whatever your heart desires!!! Find an old book and go to town!!!
