Cute, Simple 1Up Cupcakes
My friend, Kalynn, loves Mario, so I made these for her, for her birthday.
I found it really fun to do and would definitely do it again.
I hope anyone who tries this, has fun.

  • How to decorate a character cake. Rainbow 1 Up Cupcakes - Step 1
    Step 1

I used pillsbury because it's the cheapest and mom was buying it for me.
The picture shows all the ingredients I used.
The liquid in the jug all the way to the left is vegetable oil.

I separated it into four different bowls after I mixed it all together.

I added the food coloring and mixed them individually.

I then put them into baking cups, one color at a time, and made weird patterns.

I baked them and waited for them to cool down for about an hour. I mixed the icing as I waited.
I bought duncan hines icing, because, again, it was cheapest and mom was supplying everything.
I used green icing coloring and made green icing, and the standard white was perfect right out of the jar.

I used an icing spreader to spread the icing around the tops of the cupcakes. A knife would work if you don't have a spreader.

The white icing went into an icing tube, which you can purchase at general stores for pretty cheap.
I piped the white icing onto the cupcakes in circles.

    Step 8

After each cupcake looks like a 1Up, you're ready to arrange them.
I was taking them to my friend for her birthday, so I just made 17 of the 1Ups, because she was turning 17, and then put her name on the rest.
It was the perfect amount for me.
I hope yours turn out rad. =]
    Good Luck and have fun.
